Still Dry and Warm

It's been like Autumn, here........ a very dry Autumn. Every town around is setting drought records. Ranchers are putting all their cattle in feedyards because there's nothing left for them to eat in the pastures. That means less money when they sell them.

If you are a vegetarian....... disregard the last two sentences.................

I've just been to another good blog written by a female cabby in NY. Great taxi stories, and a lot of great pics, too. I recommend it........ but I'd better not give the website. I'm not sure about the rules here, but it is in 'blogspot'.

I think I'll go back and read a little more. I'll be honest. If I was as unhappy as many New Yorkers seem to be while driving in the City, I'd take the subway or the bus. :o(

Hi, Again

Well.... it's been awhile since I posted. I had a comp crash, and when I came back, I had to get a friend to help me find this blog, and then I had heck trying to find a way to post to it.

My state football team won the National Championship from a highly touted, and #1 ranked Univ. of Southern California team......... 'Hook 'em, Horns!' It was a hell of a good game.

It was in the middle seventies here, today......... very nice weather for any time of year, but still no moisture, and the area is still under a 'critical' fire watch. No rain or snow is in sight.

I have to go for now....... Be good, or be good at it.

Back, again

Yep..... I'm back again. Hard to get rid of a bad penny, I guess.

Just got back from a 'play money' poker game. Lasted quite a while, but it's a good thing that I'm cheap..... because I'm not nearly good enough to play for real. I wouldn't name the website unless they pay me, though. I know that sites like that only try to get you to gain confidence, and play for money, but I just enjoy the 'pretend' ones.

I guess the countdown for 'Tookie' Williams is still going. The Governator and Supreme Court refused to stop his execution. I have no comment on the case. I only know the crime he's accused and convicted of.

I noticed that the prez gave another 'rah-rah' speech for getting us into Iraq. I didn't listen to it. It's just the same old rhetoric. The facts are there. He had us invade a country for no reason other than 'heresay'...... or, is that heresy?

Anyway........... The bed is waiting........... Be good, or be good at it.

Late post...... The Cowboys won today. Surprised the heck out of me. Seems they can be very good, or very bad.

Wow..... I can't believe I really have a blog. Blog sounds bad. I really have a journal. :o) Journal sounds much better than blog. Blog sounds like something you left in the toilet, or your handkerchief.

Eighty-nine year old former Senator George McGovern passed on. He was considered a 'dove' of the Democratic party in his time, but I honestly believe that the present president could use a wing or two......

Actor and comedian Richard Pryer (please forgive the spelling) also succumbed. He died of complications due to MS.

If anyone notices, and reads this blog, please tell others about it. It will be filled with my thoughts, and a few antedotes here and there. Heck.............. There might even be a poem or two along the way.

I will tell you now, though. It might........nay........ It will have a bit of politics along with it. If you have a weak heart, and a Republican soul, you might think about going elsewhere.

I'm beginning to yawn, so I will leave you with one, and only one thought tonight........... Do you know where your cats are?
